Can anyone identify this uniform for Chris.Picture taken Salonika 1919.
Could it be Royal Engineers.

Sorry mate, :-[ there are no distinguishing features / tribal distinctions on any of the uniforms that would lead one to a distinct Regiment.
All I can confirm is that they are wearing KDs, with puttees (or hose!), and Wolseley (pith) helmets. I can discern no medal ribbons, badges or shoulder titles - We can't even see if there is a flash on the side of the Wolseley!!
All that is different, are the diamonds on the corporal's chevrons on the chap seated to the left...

Jim the post from srimnet refers to two diamond stripes and says my grandad was a corporal. As you know I am trying to identify his mic and medal record with very little to go on. Does this mean that I should be looking for a corporal on the mic? One other thing the photo has 23 June 1919 on the reverse. This may be significant as there is another mic for a private Alfred Cherry who left service on this date and was put on the reserve list?
