Hello

Not sure if you can help, but a Daniel Wolstencroft (born 16 May 1894) married into my Chorlton Family in 1927 when he married Anne Chorlton at St Peters Church in Ashton under Lyne.

If you have knowledge of this link I would be curious to know more.

I wonder if Thomas may be the brother of one of my ancestors William who was born c.1835 in Manchester? William and his wife (Mary) named their 2nd son Thomas who was born in 1866.  I have further information regarding this family if it is of any assistance to you.

Hi, I hope there is someone still working with Wolstencrofts!

I am looking for an Alice Wolstencroft (Wolsencroft) born about 1799, married Robert Grundy (born abt 1775). They had a daughter named Jane Grundy born on 25 Dec 1820 in Oldham and married William Sixsmith on 2 Jan 1842 in St Peter Parish in Bolton le Moors (we think).  Alice Wolstencroft is my GGG Grandmother.  Need info on DOB, Place of birth. etc.  Some family members have a marriage date of 24 Aug 1817 in Bolton Le Moors (not sure where this info came from).  I don't have Alice's parents, siblings or the same thing for her husband Robert Grundy.  I don't know if there were any other children in the family besides Jane.

Any help would be appreciated!   :)  mike or cragrat  - are you still here with help?  :-\

thanks soooo much!  diney

Hi Diney,

Only Robert GRUNDY with wife Alice I can find 1841 Census, is a (hand?) loom weaver, living in No. 13 Clarkes Factory houses
in Wolsley, Lancashire.

HO 107/543/13/Parish Eccles

Robert Grundy    55, born Lancashire
Alice,  wife          55, born Lancashire
Robert Ekersby? 15, loom weaver apprentice, born Lancs

At this stage if married 1817, children would probably married or left home for work by 1841. Will see what else I can find.

Hi Diney,

Just checked www.familysearch.org re this family.

All the info you have quoted is from a submitted ancestral file to the site.

This means someone has searched this family either in person or thru someone else.

From what I can see there is another possibility for Janes date of birth, with same parents from EXTRACTED records, that is ones taken from parish records.

You can check this out yourself.

Jane Grundy, the one I have found, born 18 June 1820, Little Lever, Lancs has lots of siblings from extracted records.

See what you think and I will look around more.
