Title: John William Taunton death/ burial Queensland
Post by: asaph on Thursday 06 December 07 11:54 GMT (UK)
Hi everyone
I would really like to find the death record for John William Taunton also known as Jack Taunton or Will Taunton.

John William Taunton was born in 1907 at Wanganui NZ Parents Joseph Taunton and Ruth Bugg.

Married Mary Richards in 1927 Rockdale NSW
John and Mary divorced some time between 1945 and 1955.

John moved to Queensland in the after 1945. He married Madge ?. Do not have the date for this marriage. Marriage may have taken place in Queensland.
John died some time in the 1960's
John had no children as far as my mother can remember.

would like to find out exact marriage and death dates. Also would like to know what cemetery he is buried in.

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Asaph :)

Hi Asaph.
You may like to contact the QLD State Library - they have an 'Ask Us' librarian service (query form on-line),  They will check their records including electoral rolls for any traces of him/them. They also have newspaper death notices -though I couldn't see them on the Brisbane Council's Cemeteries Site.

Marriage index records are only available to 1939 in Qld, so there is probably not alot to be found there. In NSW they are available to 1956 online. A copy/transcript of the 1927 marriage certificate would include the divorce details, which may/may not help your timeline.

Death indexes in Qld are avilable in fiche to 1964 (at libraries and similar). If he died after this time cemeteries would be the best possibility to find any information.  As Valerie mentioned, no sign at the online BCC cemeteries. Outside of Brisbane some links are
