I am looking for a marriage and death of

I have looked all about for Sarah Ann Hair’s death
The only death that I have found is for a
Jessie Hair parents John and Agnes in 1918 at Ashfield, NSW. Same parents wrong name but she could have been known as Jessie, this family is notorious for using middle names as first names.
At first I thought this was William Henry hair’s wife Jessie (Brooksbank) but I located her death in 1964.
Should I take the gamble and order this certificate?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Kind regards Jenn
Ps I do have registration numbers just to busy to type them in.

She could be another unregistered child of your John and Agnes.
If it is any help, the Jessie born to John HAIR and Agnes SCOTT died in Victoria aged 27, in 1893.
Your Sarah has probably married and her parents recorded incorrectly on her death - or has lived beyond the scope of the death indexs.

Hi Jenn,
Sorry if I'm sticking my nose in here ??? but is
it possible that Jessie is another daughter of your John Hair and Agnes Scott?
Couldn't see a birth registered in Victoria for her though.

Hello there
mygggm name was AGNES MORGAN thats why I had queried Christine's post.
It has crossed my mind that Sarah Ann Hair may have just lived with someone and never officially married.
She was born in 1871 so her death would be registered one would think seeing as how the deaths are up to 1976 in NSW and 1984 in Victoria, of course assuming she stayed close to home.

Jenn there is a marriage of a Annie HAIR at Corowa in 1900 - do you think she may have used her 2nd name only? Just a thought.
Cheers

There was a Jessie born to John HAIR and Agnes SCOTT (I haven't seen the birth reg though) - I saw a birth and death of another child to them when I was looking for Sarah's birth. By my comment, I was not sure if you were aware that there was another Jessie HAIR, so I was saying that she had died in Victoria.

Hello there Christine

PS do you want death notice of Jessica Hair d 1964
-
Hello there Annie
Many thanks for that information. It now rules out the Jessie in 1918.
I do have the information on Jessie R Hair. Her grandson had contacted me last year after I had added the information into GU. His father Stephen Henry Hair had died as a result of a speedway accident and he (the grandson) was living with the grandmother when she died.
Many thanks Anniie

Isn't that Durham? I see John Named a daughter after his Sister and Mother. Did John leave a will? It would mention family and who they were married to.
John
-
Hello there Yes it should be Durham.
No will that I know of to find if the daughter Sarah Ann Hair was still alive at the time of his death. She was listed as living on his death certificate . I should obtain Agnes Hair's death certificate and see if she was still listed as living on it. She may have lived in a defacto relationship and never married and when she died if there was any family that might not have known her parents names. She could have moved overseas. I have looked at a lot of angles and still drawn a blank. she is not listed as Sarah Ann Hair on the electorall rolls. I was hoping the will of her brother Rober Hair who died early might have revealed something but his will although listed wasn't to be found at State Records office.

Hi Jenn

Trying to tie up loose ends I found this marriage
reg no 10512/1901
groom SIMMONS CHARLES
bride HAIR SADIE E
at WYALONG
with these children born to the couple
William C in 1907
John R in 1909
death in
reg no 729/1914
name SIMMONS SADIE E
father JOHN
mother AGNES
at NEWTOWN
without certificates to prove or disprove it is a stab in the dark.
her death notice in the paper reveals nothing to tie her in
any thoughts as allways appreciated
Jenn
-
Hi Jenn :)
Doesn't help really help but.....
New South Wales Electoral Roll
1903
SIMMONS Charles Church Street, West Wyalong Blacksmith
SIMMONS Sadie Church Street, West Wyalong Domestic duties
Jenn having a quick look through the indexes I cannot see a birth registration for a Sadie E HAIR in Aus.
The RETURN THANKS notice by Charles describes him as Charles SIMMONS of West Wyalong and thanks the staff of a hospital for the care of his late wife. I appears to me she was in Sydney for medical treatment unavailable in the bush. I have checked the West Wyalong cemetery but no Charles is buried there.
There is no MI for Sadie E SIMMONS at Rookwood.
Did you try and trace the Sarah Ann HAIR who married Wm MUIR?
Cheers :)
Cando
-
Thanks once again Cando for your help :)
There is a birth in NSW for a Sarah Ann HARE who I felt just might have been the girl in the William Muir Marriage.
With Sadie being a diminutive for of Sarah I thought the marriage to SIMMONS Might be the right one as well as the parents names being correct on the death information
However, Rookwood cemetery says that accordingy to the records she was aged 38 in 1914 making her born in 1876 putting her age out by 5 years
I shall buy the certificate for the marriage
thanks Jenn

A bit off the area but recently I came across the grave of a Bartholomew Hair in Walpole County Ontario Canada. He was born in Northumberland and with the number of Bartholomews in the tree he could be linked. They lived in Townsend Ontario. At the moment I have 35 people in the tree and recently picked up some marriage certificates, there has also been research left with LDS by someone from Breslau (where my father is buried). This could be another branch.
John

Hello There John
Thanks for that interesting tidbit,
When was this Bartholomew born?
kind thoughts Cuz
Jenn
-
Ah the value of a certificate can never be underestimated
;D
I received the marriage certificate for Sadie and it confirms her parents as John Hair and Agnes Morgan
however her age is out a bit says she was 26 in 1901 making her born 1874/5
says she was born in Bendigo, but I do feel it is her.
I traced her husband Charles to WA where one of their sons died very young at 17 and the other also died a younger man in Victoria.
Thansk for all your input

Ah the value of a certificate can never be underestimated
Jenn
Terrific result Jenn....and I think you should have typed the above in upper case, red, bold font ;)
Chiltern is a considerable distance from Bendigo however how often have we seen an incorrect place of birth on marriage certs. The correct names of her parents are of more importance. Perhaps she wished to appear younger at her time of marriage ;)
Cheers
