Title: Scots Greys 1944 - 45
Post by: Sirus Stirling on Sunday 02 December 07 16:26 GMT (UK)
I am trying to find some background information on the Scots Grey's from the Normandy Beaches to VE Day prior to visiting the National Archives to read the Regimental War Diary. Can anyone recommend either suitable histories or web sites. Thanks.

Have you looked under Royal Scots Greys which I think is the correct Regiment name.

Hi Sirus !

There are a couple of books here ... but I don't know how available they are ... you might try the library !!

Major the Hon. Ralph Pomeroy and others
History of the Royal Scots Greys
The Second Dragoons August 1914 - March 1919 1932

Lt. Colonel R M P Carver   Second to None - The Royal Scots Greys 1919 - 1945   McCorquodale & Co. Ltd., Edinburgh 1954

why not write to the Regiment and they will give youan idea of where to find  the best information  if they don't have it themselves.
