Hi
The family I'm trying to find information on is PODESTA.
Angelina PODESTA born 13th February 1855 - 50 Mary Street, Cardiff
married Francis GRECO 23rd October 1871 at St Woolos Monmouth.
I have found the family on the 1871 census, Father was the lodging house keeper at 73, 74 & 75 Canal Pde, Newport
The family is as follows:-
John (Johanne on BC) PODESTA age 50 born Genoa Italy
Sara PODESTA (nee FOSTER) age 37 born Ipswich Suffolk
Angelina PODESTA age 16 born Cardiff GLAM (census states Newport, but I have BC)
Josephine PODESTA age 14 born Newport MON
John F PODESTA age 11 born Newport MON
Ambrose PODESTA age 1 3/4 born Newport MON
Angelina's birth and marriage certificates state her fathers occupation as a musician.
Francis GRECO was lodging at 73 Canal Pde in 1871.
Francis is the lodging house keeper for 72 to 75 Canal Pde, Newport in 1881 census.
If someone could check the 1861 census for Newport for me it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Have a slight interest in Podesta family due to a marriage. 1861 a Stephen Ferdinand Podesta b.1832 Genoa, Italy living Cardiff with wife Maria (nee Tanner)
Not many of Podesta name so may be Brother of your John. Also had Newport connection running Clubs. Was bit of lad deserting wife and children in workhouse. Seem to get in trouble with Licensing laws.
Cheers, Syljun
