Title: missing CORE (Topic finished - thanks)
Post by: Kei on Thursday 29 November 07 16:59 GMT (UK)
My great-uncle Frank Timperley CORE married Sophie Eliza RAYMOND in 1912. On the marriage certificate he is listed as a Private in the 8th Hussars, stationed in Curragh. His age is given as 26.

That is the last record that I have been able to find. I don't know how to find his service record, if it exists. I've checked the National Archives for the medals. I can't find a death for him either.

Would SKS point me in the right direction please?

Hi Kei

Welcome to RootsChat!  :)

You are in the right place for Irish records but you might have more luck asking about military records on the RootsChat Armed Forces board.

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/board,300.0.html

I would be inclined to post a new request there but say that you have also posted on this board, to avoid duplication.

Good luck!

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Do you have him in Harpurhey, England in 1891, with his parents and TIMPERLEY grandmother and lots of others?

Thanks for the suggestions. I had his birth quarter and census details a while back, that's partly why this is so frustrating - having so much and then whacking my head on the wall!

I've also posted the query on the the armed forces forum - thanks for the idea.
