Welcome to Rootschat.

Messages are "personal".  You can click on this when you have received a message.

If you want to ask a question you can either post it on the beginners board
( like the one you've just posted) or go to the relevant county board and post a new topic there.

Give as much information as you can to get the best help. ;)

Happy Rootschatting.

Welcome Iola

We were all slow when we started, but you'll soon get the hang of it and it's the friendliest site around by far.

Iola - welcome to RootsChat - it can be difficult at first as different messageboard sites work in different ways and aren't always what you may be used to - just keep asking here or on the "How to Use RootsChat" board.

You've probably already found that that you get an e-mail to your registered address each time you get a response (there is an option to stop this if you wish). If while you're signed into RootsChat you want to see if you've had any responses you can go to the top of the screen and under the "welcome back" message there are two blue lines - the second is "show new replies to your posts". That will bring up a list of threads you have posted in where there has been a response.

Best wishes
