I'm trying to find information about my GGG-Grandfather William Tricker, birth unknown and died before 1839. William is the father of Richard Tricker, baptized 1815 in Hadleigh, Suffolk. William's wife is named Sarah and his occupation in 1815 is looks like Laborer, though the page is so faded I can't make it dark enough to scan and post. Another baptism for Eliza Tricker in 1813, parents also William & Sarah but here the occupation is S??ler. Richard's 1839 marriage cert. has Father: William Tricker (deceased) and Father's occupation as Malster????. I found a death reg. for William Tricker or Tucker, age 68, from 1837 in Hadleigh and this has William Tricker's occupation as S????er (maybe Saddler). Am I reading them wrong?

I agree - Saddler. Malster (really should be spelled Maltster) or Maltman - one whose occupation is to make malt. Malt - Barley or other grain steeped in water, allowed to sprout, and dried in a kiln, used in brewing ale, etc.
