Couple of things ...... can't find Thomas' wife's first name

In 1891 Thomas is without a wife, living in Leicester, paperhanger, born Burlington Quay - not Bridlington Quay.
The 1881 fiche should be available at the Leeds LDS Family History Centre - expect it to be of poor quality:
Dwelling 13 Wellclose Terrace
Census Place Leeds, York, England
Family History Library Film 1342087
Public Records Office Reference RG11
Piece / Folio 4526 / 19
Page Number 32

From the 1901 Census - have to pay to see actual files - did not find Thomas........
Esther Varley 54 London Yorks Leeds Theatrical Wardrobe Mistress
which might make this the marriage???
Marriages December Quarter 1876

BENJAMIN Esther South Hull Volume 9d Page 449
VARLEY Thomas Francis Hull Volume 9d Page 449

1881 image gives no Christian names for Mrs VARLEY or the KAYLE visitor. Place of birth for Thomas on 1881 does say Bridlington Quay ............
Casalguidi

thank you for that.... have just looked up the 1901 ccensus details and Esther is listed as a widow.
Will send for the cert.

Best place I have found so far for thespians is the Times Online! I had a free trial a while ago and found some of my acting rellies there. So I would point you in the direction of local papers etc. You might even try:
