Title: 1841/1851 Otford, Kent look-up please

I am researching the Francis Family who lived in Otford for several generations through the nineteenth century.
I am particularly hunting for any information on Thomas Francis. I think he married Ann (surname unknown) and they produced a son James Francis about 1859.
Does anyone have access to Census or Parish records please?

Hope to be researching at Centre for kentish Studies in next couple of weeks.

Have a bit of a list but will try and fit 1841/1851 Otford for you if that is soon enough.

hi
I have checked the 1841 census for Otford and found the following:
Thomas Francis  age 40  ag lab
Jane                          35
John                          14
William                       11
James                        7
Mary                           4
Harriett                      2
They were living in Kiln Houses in the Hundred of Codsheath Otford
There were no other Francid in Otford
You should bear in mind that the 1841  adult ages are rounded to the nearest 5 and it does not give any other info regarding place of birth. Also, there is not an index so if you need to know any other person from 1841 I need a location

In 1851 found the following:-

Figured this couple too old to be James' parents (and mothers name wrong)
so checked 1851 indexes for Sevenoaks area and found:-

Chevening, Morants Court Hill

Thomas Francis    Head     28         ag lab          born Otford
Ann           "          wife       26                               Shoreham


Went back and checked 1861 census of Otford

Rye House Cottage

John Francis    34         Ag Lab                 born Otford
Mary Ann         33                                             Roxley
Sarah                 9                                            Otford

Shab Hall Otford

William Francis     29     ag lab (waggoner)    born Otford

Thanks very much for all your work. The information has helped clarify things.

The Thomas and Ann Francis at Chevening in 1851, and back in Otford in 1861 appear to be the people I need.

I hate to appear greedy, but if you do get a chance to check parish registers sometime it would be appreciated.
