Title: 1901 l/u, please - Bould - Ferry Fryston
Post by: peterb on Friday 23 November 07 00:02 GMT (UK)
Would someone look for this family in 1901, please. The data is from the 1901 decoder, so I don't have the address or Piece/Folio/Page info.
There also seems to be someone else in the house with a different surname.

Mary Ann   Bould   53   1848   Yorks Knottingley
Elijah   Williamson   39   1862   Norfolk Great Heacham
Mary E   Williamson   29   1872   Yorks Knottingley
John Wm   Bould   20   1881   Yorks Knottingley
Beatrice   Bould   10   1891   Yorks Ferry Bridge
Wilfred L   Bould   8   1893   Yorks Ferry Bridge
Ernest   Bould   5   1896   Yorks Ferry Bridge
Eleanor M   Williamson   11M   1900   Yorks Ferry Bridge

Thanks for your help,

Thanks to you both.

Would someone confirm whether Beatrice 10 is a Straw or a Bould?

Hello Peter

Re Bould.

Yes quite a confusing family.  I did some research on the family on behalf of my cousin recently (Elijah Williamson was her Maternal Grandfather).

Annie Straw was nee Annie Bould, bn abt 1873 in Knottingley.

Beatrice Bould (birth reg 4th quarter 1890, Pontefract) was the dt of Mary Elizabeth Bould.  Also she had two other children prior to her marriage to Elijah Williamson in 1897 (Pontefract RO)

Mary Ann Bould was nee Mary Ann Hossell, she married John Bould in 1869.

Let me know if you want any more information and would be interested where you fit into the line.

Regards

Bob

Thanks Bob,

It looks like Mary Ann is living with her son and widowed daughter Annie and her two girls. Also her granddaughter Beatrice is living with her. Just nearby is her now married daughter Mary Elizabeth, her husband and their daughter plus two other of  her children.

My interest is that Wilfred Lingard Bould married one of my great-aunts, Clarissa Alice Wilson. I am in contact with a couple of descendants of these two. I found them thru' GenesReunited originally. By the way Lingard may be a useful clue to the parentage of at least one of Mary E's children.
Check out my tree.

BTW, I see you have an interest in Berrys from Leeds, as do I. Any connection?

Hi Peter

Couldn't check your tree I couldn't access your web site.

However my Berry's, from my Grandmother Amy (Bn. Leeds 1888) are :-
Walter Brewerton Berry, bn. Hunslet 1865
James Berry, bn. Holbeck 1840
John Berry, bn. Holbeck abt 1818
James Berry, bn. Holbeck 1795
James Berry, bn. Holbeck 1765
Johnathan Berry bn. abt. 1738

Any connections there?

I knew the spouses of Beatrice and Ernest Bould but not of Wilfred Lingard Bould.

Hi Peter

As you say we do not seem to share any common links with the Berry family, it is a fairly common name in that area.

Thanks for additional info. on Wilfred.

Hi All,

My wife descends from this family. Mary Ann Bould nee Hossell was her 2nd Great Grandmother. Her son, John William Bould married Harriet Smith and had a daughter called Doreen Bould in 1919. She is my wife's grandmother. She married Fred Dickinson. My wife is a Dickinson.

I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who links in to this family, especially as they are quite closely related. Well, closer than the 9th or 10th cousins I am often in correspondence with!

My direct e-mail is Moderator Comment: email address removed to avoid spammers.   Please use the personal message system    and I really look forward to hearing from some, if not all, of you.
