Title: Savages of Enfield
Post by: supernova7 on Friday 31 December 04 05:11 GMT (UK)
G'Day from Oz,

I'd like some help with a 1861 Middlesex lookup for a John and Ann Savage with daughter Mary Ann, age about 8 (and possibly other children). John and Ann were living in Clay Hill, Enfield in early 1864. Any information on this family from this period, would be gratefully received.

Cheers,

Hi James

I have just discovered that the 1861 census for Middlesex is available at www.1837online.com
In case you haven't been there, its a fee based lookup (3 units for a census lookup).
5 GBP for 55 units

Hope it helps. It certainly helped me.

Jackie

Hi Jackie,

Yes I've used 1837 for 1861 Census lookups and it has  helped me a lot too.

Unfortunately, I am still unable to locate John (age unknown in 1861) , Ann (age about 28 in 1861) and Mary Ann Savage (age about 10 in 1861). John is my current subject of interest as I know nothing about him, other than he was once married to Ann.

It could be that they were still in Cambridgeshire in 1861 but I won't know until that County's census is published.

Thanks, James
