Does anyone have any info regarding the Underwood family from Mucklestone aound the late 18th/early19th C? In particular regarding William Underwood a shoemaker from Oakley?

Hi
My late mother, Mary Elizabeth Heath (nee Underwood) was a direct descendant of Francis Underwood who lived ay Mucklestone in the early 18th C. A few documents relating to him have survived in the Nation Archives because he paid apprentice fees and land tax at that time.
He was a cordwainer and it seems he moved to Standon in Staffs at some stage with my mother's branch of the family eventually moving to the Potteries.
All the best with your searches.

Hi
A few dates might help.
I can see a William Underwood baptised at Mucklestone 16.5.1773 s of Francis and Hannah living at Napeley Heath.
Brother John 26.2.1769 (who seems to have moved to Liverpool),Nathaniel 17.2.1771,Vernan 11.5.1775,Thomas 19.1.1777-19.8.1781 ,Stephen 24.1.1779 and Mary 17.12 1780.
Francis was also a shoemaker taking on apprentice John Spieby 16.4.1777.
Francis was buried 18.11.1825 at Mucklestone age 83 again living at Napeley Heath.Hannah buried 15.7.1828 age 88.
William seems to be a shoemaker with a wife Sarah.
Their eldest child Diana bap and buried Norton in Hales Shropshire in 1800
Is this the chap?
