I am trying to find some info on my gggrandmother Rebecca Jackson. She was born in 1836 Buckinghamshire. Her husband was Ralph Shaw. If someone could find her in the 1841 census, it would be great. Thanks Shari

Thanks Sheila: I think that's her. I am having a terrible time trying to find their marriage certificate, as they don't appear to be in the BMD INDEX. Should have been married between 1853-1856 Any suggestions? Thanks again Shari

I've also checked the full marriage indexes for 5 years prior to the birth of their first child. Sorry found nothing. >:(

Sorry, I meant marriages not births, under all name variations ???

I think Sheila's 1827 baptism for Elizabeth Rebecca must be your Rebecca - the booklet I have of the Colnbrook PRs describes her father John as a thongmaker, which must have meant whipmaker - rather than maker of scanty pants!! ;)
Is it possible that Rebecca's marriage to Ralph was registered under her 'proper name' of Elizabeth?
I've also found the burials of her parents in Colnbrook -
17 Nov 1870 Rebecca Jackson aged 79 of Colnbrook
Jill
24 Oct 1872 John Jackson aged 72 of Colnbrook

No I checked, as did Sheila, all marriage index entries for Shaw/Jackson and all variants

Thanks all. The Shaw/Jacksons have been a struggle all the way, other side of family has been a breeze. Jillruss that's too cute!
