Is anyone else researching the family of Jonathon NEWMAN who married Charlotte DICKERSON. On the 1851 census he was 48, a Brewer and living in the High Street, Balsham.
By 1861 he is a widower and with his widowed sister, Ann DAWKINS, appears to be running the "3 Alls" Public House.
I would like to find out more about this family and in particular the "3 Alls" - what did the name mean?
Thanks
Pat

might '3 Alls' have been 'local shorthand' for '3 Halls' ?
just a guess :)
should you find your newman's stray outside Cambridge into Fenstanton, Swaffham Bulbeck or Ely.. let me know - that's where mine are during the late 1700s to the present day respectively.
