Hi All
Does anyone have ancestors here in Hastings who were COXWAINS of the Hastings lifeboat between c.1800 to present day.
The RNLI are staging several events in Hastings next year to celebrate 150 years and I have been given the task of putting together a database of all the Coxwains of the lifeboats for an exhibition to be held in the spring of 2008
Can anyone help me please or guide me in the right direction to find this information
Thanks in Advance

Hi! Chris in 1066,
My name was Picknell and my ancesters were from Hastings.
In my family tree I have a William Picknell born in 1802 ; died 1881.
He was the son of William the Elder born 1776 , burried at Fairlight Church Sussex.
He married Fairlight Church Sussex.
William Picknell married Elizabeth Brett in 1822 at the Church in the Wood , Hollington , Sussex , Hastings.
They had 9 children all born in Hastings. One of them was a Charles Picknell born 1828 and could tie in with your Charles Picknell 1858, making him about 30 years.
I have more info if you would like it.
