Looking for a marriage around 1825- 1830 of Charles Gibson and Catherine???
Their children, Catherine c1830; Henderson c1833, Richard c1835; Charles c1838 are born at Benton Square. Have searched IGI but had no success.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Marion
do any of your Gibsons cross into Chollerton or Colwell in Northumberland
I've got none at the moment in your era in BENTON or Ncle

I have a Charles Gibson marrying a Christian Scott at Longbenton 23.7.1824. Sounds promising?
Frek.

Hi Frek
That does sound possible but then Rosie sent me details from the VRI and Charles and Christianna had a daughter Margaret in 1825 which would tie up with this and a son Henderson in 1827 - but neither of them are to be found with my Charles & Catherine on the 1841 Census.
Will have to send away for a later child certificate - just thought it might be easier and time saving to ask rootschat.
Many thanks

Hi - children went to work at very early ages - one of mine was `tweeny` at 10. Also, if the family home was `full`, some children were sent to live with grandparents or other relatives.
Good hunting - frek.

Hi Marion
Just picking up your comment that your Gibsons remained around Earsdon.
My 3G Grandmother Sarah Gibson married Henry Bower in Earsdon in March 1824. Her parents were Cuthbert Gibson and Ann ( Wilkinson we think but possibly Smith), (unbelievably 2 Cuthbert Gibsons married 2 Anns and had a daughter Sarah within 4 years of each other in Earsdon).
I wonder if there is any link with your Gibsons and if so whether you can shed any light onto this puzzle.
Best regards

Hi Marion
Over the weekend I received an email link indicating that you had responded further to this post but nothing has appeared I have noticed a couple of other people raising this problem.
If important could you please resend.
Thanks and regards
