Title: Morris family
Post by: robbiemac on Wednesday 07 November 07 05:32 GMT (UK)
My 3x gt grandfather Price/Pryce Morris was supposed to have been born in Llanfair Caereinion, Montgomeryshire about 1780-83. At age 29 he was given a life sentence on 7 Apr 1810 at the Montgomery Assizes for sheep stealing. He was transported aboard the Guildford, leaving London in Aug 1811 and arriving in Australia on 21 Jan 1812. I have quite a bit of information about the family out here - including the restoration of the cottage he built in 1837 at St Albans, but I have recently heard that he was married and had a family in Wales. Can anyone confirm his birth/bap details please and find out the correct nature of his conviction and marital status? I'm happy to help with any info re musters, permission to marry etc on the Aussie side. Thanks in advance for any help, Regards, Robbie
