east lanashire regment.
i have been informed that a JOHN QUINLAN born 1898.
joined the ELR in 1918 till1922.
i have no army number for him,can he be traced with so little
to go on.?
any help most welcome.

As he was still serving in 1921 his records are still held by the MOD, and only available to a close relative. See - http://www.veterans-uk.info/service_records/service_records.html . The good news is they seem to have relaxed their requirement for the service number to be provided.

Yes John Quinlan was born at 47Chapel St Altrincham

he was my granddad. john winstanley as he was later known.

John was also my uncle even though i never met him.
John had a son Keith who i speak to now and then he sent me a photo of his dad in the army if you would like a copy i will e-mail it to you ifyou send me your addresse.

keith is my father, sorry brian we have spoke before when keith lived in altrincham. i will keep you posted if i find out any more details.
