Can anyone help, we have the service number for William Jones of Bargoed as being 4189 and we think he enlisted on the 29th May 1916. Is possible to find from that piece of information his Regement.
Hope someone can enlighten us.

If you go to this site you will find all the details for William John Jones, of 5, Transit St., Bargoed. His attestation & discharge papers together with details of wife & children & a physical description. He was in the 2nd batt. Monmouthshire Reg.

I have just found marriage cert. for William John Jones and Florence Mable Butland dated 09-10-13.
William father name was Evan coal miner. Certificate is stamped Monmouthshire Territorial Forces Assoc. 35 Stow Hill Newport.
