A slight change in the spelling throws up
Patrick DIGNAN age 47 born in Coatbridge and living at 539A Main Street Coatbridge with his familyin the 1901 census.
This Patrick is a Tube Work labourer
Family
Wife,Mary aged 40
Son, James aged 16 also a Tube Work labourer
and daughter Jane aged 17

cheers everybody...another Irish ancestor. Next stop 1891 Census which may show which Irish county he was born in. No doubt his wife Mary REILLY will prove to be of Irish stock as well.

dont know if we have been in touch before Mary Reilly was my great grandmothers sister she was born in Ballbay, Monaghan

Hi wildgoose, I should have said Mary Teresa Dignam was the daughter of my great grandmothers sister Mary Reilly and Patrick Dignam.
Mary Teresa was born on 15 Dec 1886 in Corbrack, Monaghan, Ireland and died on 20 May 1956 in Fife Bernard Sanaghan was born in Hollytown and died 21 Dec 1936 at 19 Capeldrae Row, Auchterderran, Fife.
