Hello Readers, Is there a really helpful person out there who could assist me on the following:
Am trying to find the following in 1891 Census - Fredrick or Frederick Graham THOMSON (no 'P' in spelling)
hopefully living at 19 Cromwell Road West London
Wife named Grace
Also his brother, Denzil Charles Fredrick (or Frederick) THOMSON living in London.
I am trying to go 'forward' rather than back to see if I have any distant cousins in UK.
Thank you in advance of any responses.
From a great and sunny New Zealand

Here is the family in the 1891 census
RG12/ 34/ Folio 37 / Page 13a - 19 West Cromwell Road, Kensington, London
They have gone all posh with a 'P' in their surname.

Hi there Juliet
As regards your private message:
Hello Chris,
What do I say - but an enormous 'thank you' for all your help and trouble you have gone to. Yes I will sort out and see if there is a Society near me here in NZ. Perhaps if I want to move onwards and forwards I should concentrate on the 'males' that are listed. Would be easier than the sisters I reckon.
I think I shall take your suggestion and follow them through on the 1901 Census - d**n the expense!!
Kind regards, Juliet
You need to be an 'airmail' member of an English Society, possibly in London - they will have the inside info , contacts, etc that you need.
I have been on to the Federation of Family History Society Web pages
Website http://www.ffhs.org.uk/
and found the following london ones for you
MIDDLESEX

E-MAILS: Gillmay@dial.pipex.com
WEB-SITE: www.hfhs.co.uk (changed FEB2003)

CONTACT: Mr & Mrs Pyemont, 57 Belvedere Way, Kenton, Harrow, Middlesex HA3 9XQ
WEB-SITE: www.lnmfhs.dircon.co.uk
Also listed under LONDON (Greater London)
West Middlesex FHS
CONTACT: Mr Paul Kershaw, 241 Waldegrave Road, Twickenham, Middlesex, TW1 4SY
E-MAILS: secretary@west-middlesex-fhs.org.uk

Westminster & Central Middlesex FHS
please see under London & North Middlesex FHS
I think the best bet would probably be London, Westminster and North Middlesex - but I would e-mail them all, tell them what area and who you are looking for - and are they the correct society for that area of research.

Hello Juliet I am unsure if this is the correct way to reply to your post as I have only just registered but no doubt I will be put straight if not.
I do not know if this is the Thomson you are referring to but my Great Grandfather was
Frederick Denzil Thomson (some records show John Frederick Denzil Thomson) born 1845/46 and
lived in "The Oaks" 73 Holden Road, North Finchley, London (also referred to as Woodside Park).
He married Harriet Elizabeth Quinton (sister of Alfred Robert Quinton the Artist) and they had eight children
Florence Edith Thomson
Gertrude Thomson
Winifred Thomson (my Grandmother)
Archibald F Thomson
Grace Thomson
May Beatrice Thomson
Cecil Thomson
Claude Thomson
