My family claim to have romany gypsy links, they tell the story of my gg grandfather marrying into a into a gypsie family. William Bryant married Elizabeth Gibbings from Barnstaple, North Devon in 1882. It is Elizabeth that the family beleave is from a Romany Gypsy family, is there any way to prove this?.
All that I have found indicates that there is no links to a gypsy line, the only thing that I can see is that the family worked in trades or occupations more associated with gypsies, that of chimney sweeps, hawkers etc.

Post on romany roots too. (Google it, its a Kent based site but folki from everywhere go on it). Romany Road is also good.
