You need to find out who Mr. Wallace was, and where he placed boys under his care. Depending on what home George was originally placed in, you may find a great deal of info, including correspondence.

So I had a look and found that Mr. Wallace was a minister in the 1890s and was sent from Miss Bilbrough in the late 1880s. So  - who was Miss Bilbrough and what home did she represent?

Ellen Bilbrough worked in the Annie Macpherson home in London, England. When Miss Macpherson began to bring children to Canada Ellen Bilbrough came with her to manage the Canadian home that was established in Belleville, Ontario. The home was called Marchmont and Ellen remained there until her death in 1902.

Miss B. married Rev. Wallace (the man who was in charge of the boys on the list you found) and continued to bring children over from these agencies

Quarrier's
Mrs. Blaikie
Barnardo's
Strangeway's Home
Miss Alexander

So -- if you are lucky, it will be Barnardo's as their records are amazing! Read more  at http://ist.uwaterloo.ca/~marj/genealogy/children/Organizations/bilbrough.html
