Title: Tracing Allard Family
Post by: gralorn on Wednesday 31 October 07 20:21 GMT (UK)
My research up to date has got me back to James Allard who was Christened/baptised on the 13 March 1747 at Strensham, Worcestershire. I believe in the church of St John the Baptist. His Father was Francis Allard and his Mother Elizabeth Allard (Nee Handy) they married on the 12th Oct 1737 at Strensham. They had three other children all baptised in Strensham other than James.
I would love to find out more information.
Names and birth dates of other three children
Information on Marriage registration so as I would be able to go back further with the family history. Who was Francis's father, what were their employments etc.  Can anyone assist? or advise.

Is anybody able to assist with tracing Francis and Elizabeth's details in order to delve further back into my family history or able to advise how I can? Are we back to window and hearth taxes yet or still baptism records as we know they were married in 1737 at St John the Baptists. How can I find out more detail on that marriage for instance?

Seem to be barking up the wrong tree, still need to find out more about the baptism or birth of James Allard of Wetheringsett, Suffolk. He was married to Mary Potter on 17th May 1773. Need to find out who his parents were in order to break through the proverbial wall. They were both single and of that parish, James wrote his name and mary made her mark, they went on to have 12 children. James died and was buried in All Saints Church, Wetheringsett in 18o8 being buried on the 24 July.

Would so much love to be able to go further back with the family history, is anyone able to assist.

Hi Graham,

I'm researching "Allard's" too.

Mine are also from Worcestershire/Gloucestershire.
I'm back to about 1800 where I'm stuck.
I have Allards coming in from 2 angles :-
My x3 Great Grandparents were William Allard 1806 St Andrew, Pershore and Ann Lies.( His parents possibly Wm. Allard & Ann too )
And x3 Great Grandparents Francis Allard 1806 Holy Cross, Pershore and Sarah Garnett (His parents John Allard c1770 and Hannah )

I have come across a little info. on Strensham Allards during my research, which I can let you have, but I haven't tied it in with my family yet as it's 1737-1782.

Regards Val ( nee Allard)

Hi Val (Nee Allard)

Great to meet someone else looking into Allards, there are quite a few branches to our roots it seems. My lot and those of two other Allard researchers of Allards that I know seem to have come from Suffolk. Do any of your Allards go to or come from Suffolk?

Regards

Graham

Val,

Not sure where Pershore is, but I have Allards who went to Canada and even I was born in Dorset! so one never knows our branches may yet join up somewhere yet.

Graham,

Pershore is in Worcestershire, near Evesham.

My Grandfathers brother Ernest James Allard b 1893 went to Vancoover

My x2 Great grandmother's brother, Charles Allard b.1836 went to Shropshire, Somerset, Dorset and kent.

My Allards went to Canada in 1918 after the war so they are not the same branch. We have no common denominator yet, but feel sure something will cross at sometime.
