Hello everyone, can anyone help me identify the
regiment this man served in. Thanks in advance

John,

As Lydart says "a fine photo"

The centre plate in the helmet badge should define him, but I can't find anything like it for Essex.

There are a great group of guys in the armed services section who can probably answer you in 10 seconds. May I suggest that you re-post on that board. They probably don't look in the photo section very often.
