Alexander Canning married Ellen Duddy  20/05/1902 in Banagher Presby Church  Alex parents were John Canning  & Mary Cartin married 20/11/1862 at Magherafelt registars Office   Ellen's parents  were Robert & Margaret Duddy from Claudy  if anyone has any info would be most grateful

2. Mary Ann born 25 Aug.1868 Co.Derry (Cartin)
3. Charles born 25 Apr.1870 Co.Derry (Carten)
4. Alexander born 1872 that MaryDerry found.
5. William born 16 May 1876 Craig, Co.Derry (Carten)
6. George born 21 Feb.1880 Craig (Carton)

And the couple that MaryDerry found:
Robert Duddy m. Margaret Jane Warnock:
1. Mary Eliza born 8 Oct.1874 Ireland

All of above from IGI. On Irish Genealogy found one Ellen Duddy born Co.Derry in 1884.

have the Duddy children but was unsure whether  Marg Warnock or Marg McGee was mother this info seems to confirm Margaret Warnock as the mother.

 Another can of worms opened  just obtained Details of Marriage cert of John Canning & Mary Cartin    20 Nov 1862

marriage at magherafelt registrars office on 20 november 1862 john canning, full age, widower, shoemaker, residence - tobermore parish of kilcronaghan, father - john canning, labourer .....mary carlin, full age, spinster, occupation looks to be a ditto ie shoemaker, residence - lemnaroy parish of termoneeny, father - hugh carlin, labourer witnesses - mathew cavin and james hagan
  this gives Mary,s surname as Carlin not Carten   and John Canning as a widower  ...lol here we go again

Did you get a photocopy of the actual marriage entry or is it a transcribed (typed or written) copy?

There is no Cartin/Carlin or anything close in Lemnaroy at time of Griffith's Valuation (1859). Also no Canning/Cannery or anything close in Tobermore. See correction below



Marriage date is same on both 20 Nov.1862 at Magherafelt
John Canning/Cannery to Mary Cartin/Carlin.

Hi  it was a trans scribed copy of the marriage certificate and I also have John & Robert Canning Main Street Tobermore on Griffith Valuation Kilcronaghan district

Sorry- went back to Griffith's and found John Canning with house, yard and small garden but still can't see a Robert Canning in Tobermore.

Hi Aghadowey  Robert Canning def in Tobermore he was the sexton of Kilcronaghan Church of Ireland for a long time  Had two wives and 12 children that I know of .

Apparently Tobermore is listed in about 6 different places in Griffiths. Found what is probably the above Robert Canning in the townland of Calmore:
Robert Canning 0 acres 0 rods 20 perches- house, yard & garden
There's also a Robert Kenning in the same townland with land only which could be the same person.
