The records of the Glovers (livery) Company are held in Guildhall Library London. These are mainly 18th century including apprentice bindings up to 1794 for example. The London Livery Companies are relevant as they covered the whole of England in many cases.
The other places to look are in the county record office for where they lived again for apprentice bindings etc.
Have you looked at local directories? They may give you some leads.
