Can anyone tell me the whereabouts of Emily Jenner born 1855 in sherborne Dorset after 1881. On the 1881 census she is unmarried and working as a servant in Wimbledon, London . After that I have failed to find her on 1891 and 1901 census and also have not found a marriage or death to account for her apparent disappearance. I dont know whether she returned home to dorset or settled in London? Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Hi Rob,
Have you discounted the marriages in 1886 in Bromley, 1887 in Hastings and 1888 in Sevenoaks? All have a bride Emily Jenner.
She could be, like some of mine, "missing presumed mistranscribed"!

Possible?
Marriage
Sep 1883 Kingston (includes Wimbledon)
John Brushett
Emily Jenner
(the 1891 census shows that the other two names married each other)
Possible (birthplaces are often wrong):
1901 census
St Olaves Union Infirmary, Southwark
Ellen Brushett, 46, married, patient, b Camberwell
Possible death:
Mar 1912
Ellen Brushett age 57
I can't find the 1891 entry at the moment.
