I realised after posting a message that it was on the wrong Board, so tried to copy and paste it to the correct one, but got a message about "Copyright".
I know that people do copy and paste sectons of someone's message when replying, so where did I go wrong?
Thank you, Joan.

Hi Joan,
Instead of right-clicking, just use ctrl+c to copy and ctrl+v to paste :)
-
Thanks, Tati...............that's a useful tip.............wonder why the other method doesn't work?
Joan.

If you want a post moved, eg you've started a thread on the wrong board, click the "report to moderator" link in the bottom right-hand corner of the post and fill in the little box with your request.

You can "copy and paste" on the county boards but not the look up requests boards.
If you are replying to a post you can click on "quote" which will copy the entire post you are replying to onto your post. You can edit bits you don't need.

Thanks, all...........good to know there's someone with the patience to answer our naive questions.
Joan.

So which post would you like moved??
I can do it for you, if you tell me which one. ;)

Sorry, Nell, I had already re-typed it onto the correct Board, but will know what to do in future!!

Probably because we all started out like you, at the beginning. Because people answered our naive questions, we now know more, so we pass it on.
I think this must be the "inofficial" motto of RootsChat:
"What goes around comes around" :) :)

Bob
ps. I've deleted the "wrong" one :)

Thanks, Bob.
