hello,
I'm doing a bit digging for a friend. Now she knows her father died in feb 2005 in Coventry somewhere, is it possible to find out if he was buried or cremated and which church would of held the service.
Thankyou in advance but apologies if this request is not allowed.
Jacqui

perhaps you could try -
www.ancestry.co.uk
they got free index from 1984 to 2005 for births, amrriages and deaths.
if you found him, see the district and perhaps use yellow pages for that district to find all cemeteries and make a letter or email to them asking for help.
good luck!

thankyou for your reply but would you know what this means
Register number: B71A
Entry Number: 195
or what areas if any it refers to
-
They are the equivalent of the old Volume and Page number - if you want to order the Cert from the GRO you will be prompted to enter this* info as well as name etc ...
see the GRO website .... http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/
Reference information from GRO Index
Year 2005
District name and Number*
Entry Number*
DOR (Date of Registration, mm/yyyy)*

cannot complete form without exact date of death, i know it was feb 2005 but dont know exact date, what do i do
please help
thankyou
-
Don't worry about that.
The entry number will narrow the search down.
-
Be aware however that the death cert won't tell you where he was buried, Jacqui :)
-
Look for Undertakers in Yellow Pages - see if they had him as a customer - you may have to put request in writing / proof of identity etc - dunno...
-
at least death cert shows where the person died and it can give you clues where nearby church or cemetery is.

Thanks for all your reply s,
i will now go and investigate :), it does mean a lot
