Hi
I have recently recieved a copy of a family / work photograph portrying what appears to be the workforce and family members, including two children together with horses. All are situated behind and around a large circlar saw blade with Brownmoor Sawmill Dumfriesshire 1916 and 1919 painted on it. along with two thistles.
Can anyone with local knowledge advise as to where this firm or Sawmill was situated.
Thanx, Stuart

Hello Stewart,
Brownmoor Wood is situated half a mile south of Ecclefechan and west of the M74. The adjacent sawmill belongs to Carruthers Timber and is at Mein Bridge, Ecclefechan. It is still in operation.
I hope that helps.
Bealach.
