Hi Mand,
the marriage ref is Jun Quarter 1852 Leighton Buzzard 3b 646
Mary JANES to Amos HORNE - you might need to get the certificate to find out her father's name and occupation as there are a few Mary Ann Janes in the area in 1841
I found the same one as Suz which looks very likely
ref 1841 HO107/49/14 fol.9 p.15
Northall, Eddlesborough, Bucks
will check them in 1851 to see if I can confirm wife's name

Enceps, I can't locate them in 1851 -and all of the children seem to be living with brothers, sisters etc

No, neither can I, annoying, wanted to see if she was really called Alley!

There's a death for an Otley Janes in 1844 Leighton Buzzard.........think that could be it on closer inspection of the census
death ref. is March Qu 1844 Leighton Buzzard 6/59
death refs for several Williams so unable to say if he died too.

Hi again
Special thanks to you both for all the information.
I don't think the marriage certificate would help on this as I have just narrowed it down to 2 Mary Janes both have fathers name of William one William married a Sarah Jackson and the other Alley Strange :-\ :-\ :-\
Once again thank you

The cert. might help to finding his occupation, you can always ask the local register office to confirm that before you pay for it.
You can always have a check done for the other possible parents in census to see if their Mary Ann was still with them after the marriage date.
familysearch.org has the marriage of William Janes to Alley Strange 11 Feb 1819 Edlesbrough
Can I ask where you got the other marriage information?
I take it you got her age and birthplace from later census.
Also on familysearch are the baptisms:
Mary Ann b.17 Sep 1834 bapt 19 Oct 1834 Ivinghoe parents William Janes & Sarah
Mary Ann bapt 28 Sep 1834 All Saints, Leighton Buzzard parents James Janes & Sarah

On a later census it does say Mary b1834 hence my confusion :-\ :-\ doesn't take much ;D ;D
the rest have said 1833 Northall
only other one is
Mary Ann b.17 Sep 1834 bapt 19 Oct 1834 Ivinghoe
parents William Janes & Sarah JACKSON m 30 MAR 1834 LDS

Ok, here's the Ivinghoe one:
1851 HO107/1756 fol.413 p.38
Ivinghoe
JANES
William 38 Carpenter Aston
Sarah 36 Kingshall
Mary 16 Straw Plaiter Ivinghoe Aston
Elizabeth 13 " " " "
John 9 Scholar " "
Margarett 7 Straw Plaiter " "
Susan 4 " "
Agnes 1 " "
1861 still at home with parents, aged 26 so not the one you want!
Hope that helps, Barbara

Many thanks once again Suz and Barbara :) for all the information.
As I read it all it seems to point to William and Alley as her parents.
