I realize this post is 7 years old, but I thought I would still ask, do you have the marriage record of William Davies and Ann Bailey? If so, was her father by chance William Bailey, occupation chair maker or basket maker? I assume they were married the 4th quarter of 1872 in West Bromwich, Staffordshire.

Hi, I've checked my online/computerised records and I don't have a marriage record for them nor do I have Ann's parents. I've not got my paper records to hand at the moment but I will double check and if I have anything in there waiting to be verified I will let you know.

Thank you Sue for looking in your records for me. I don't know if you are related to just the Davies family or the Bailey family as well. My ancestors are John Gleves/Greaves & Mary Allen, their daughter Ann married William Bailey. William & Ann Bailey had a daughter Ann, born 26 Dec 1848, in Birmingham. She and her sister Mary Jane were on the 1871 census living with their aunt Rosanna Greaves. That is the last I have found on Ann, but Mary Jane was still living with her aunt on the 1881 census.

I just learned my aunt has a DNA match with a descendant of William Davies and Ann Bailey and they have a copy of William Davis & Ann Bailey's marriage certificate. Ann Bailey is indeed a daughter of "William Bailey, Fancy Basket Maker."
