H,
can you see what you can make of this please. I have no idea what has happened to the photo, which I do not have only this JPG. It is from 1936 not that old.
I have Photoshop elements but after a couple of improvements I can make I seem to make it worse. Any guidance of what to do would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Nic

Hi Nic,
Here is a very quick clean up but it is very basic because as we say on all the posting - "to give the resorers a chance please scan at 300 or 600 dpi". Your's is 100 and there is too much to do to make it worthwhile.
It has obviously been folded. This can be made better at high resolution.
If you want to start o your own go to enhance/lighting/levels and drag the sliders either side of the histogram peak towards the histogram. Experiment.

is it possible to get hold of the original again? if so ask if it can be scanned at 300dpi - this is a really beautiful photo and deserves to be restored.
