If anyone has access to either the Worlingworth,Worlingham or Parham registers, I would appreciate if they could do a lookup to see if the following marriage appears;-
Robert Ribbans to Margaret Thingoe at about 1636.
The info I have been given lists Worlingworth and Parham which I believe are distance apart and Worlingham has been mentioned which is confusing the situation.
(Ribbans/Ribbens/Revans/Revance and other spellings )
I think I may have posted this previously in the wrong place-my
apologies

Hi Alan
The marriage took place at Worlingworth.
Taken from Worlingworth PR:
"Robt Ribbands and Margaret Thingoe were married the 6th of June Anno Domini 1636"
I also tried looking for some baptisms post 1636 but the writing was quite feint and I could only find one:
"Ann daughter of Robt Ribands and Margarett his wife was baptised the 16th of March 1640"
Best regards
Anne

Hi Anne,
Thank you kindly for the info on the marriage
of Robt.Ribands & Margarett Thingoe..
I now know that it is Worlingworth and can cast aside the other two locations.
I know how feint the writing can be and appreciate the trouble you have taken.
I have details of a son who was baptised on 16th December 1639 and if it is not
too difficult, could you try once more and see if this baptism appears?
I really feel as I am getting some where at last.
regards
Alan

Hi Alan
I looked this up at the records office and, while I don't mind a second look up, it may be some time before I go again.
Will make a note though, and look this up when I go.
Regards
Anne

Sorry - should have asked - do you know the son's name?
-
Hi Anne,
What a mistake!!,
I can't believe I omitted to say that his name was Robert Ribbans
bapt. on/or about 16th December 1639
Thank you once again for your help, I don't mind waiting.
regards
Alan

Hi Alan
My trip to the RO came sooner than expected - I found a couple of hours this afternoon ;D
I could not see a baptism for a Robert Ribbans at Worlingworth though, sorry. Just the one for Ann I'm afraid.
(Have added some other Ribbans info to your other (Saxtead) post).
Best wishes
Anne

Hi
I'm researching the Ribbands/Revans family from Suffolk. so far I have found a William Ribbands, son of Robert and Elizabeth(?) in Stoke Ash in 1730. I have traced his parents' marriage to 1724 in Stoke Ash. I have been unable to find Robert's baptism in Stoke Ash or any parish anywhere near it.
Does anyone out there share my Ribbands/Revans family please?

Hi Jenny,
I am a Ribbans myself and have been researching my ancestry for some time.
The majority of my ancestors came from Suffolk in & around the Ipswich, Tuddenham, Saxtead areas
but at the moment I don't have any info on the William Ribbands or his parents Robert & Elizabeth you
mention. No doubt they are related to mine somewhere along the line but to whom I'm not sure.
