Title: Wassons of Newtown Stewart
Post by: elliojo on Sunday 07 October 07 15:30 BST (UK)
Seeking any information on the family of Archibald & Mary (Kyle) Wasson of Newton Stewart - supposedly tenants of Duke of Abercorn. Most of the family immigrated to New Brunswick, Canada c1850-52.  Archibald may have died before family emigrated.  Children of Archibald & Mary (Kyle) Wasson:
Matilda    m. a McSorley - remained in Ireland, but children may have emigrated later
Charles  - unmarried - died in NB
John       - unmarried - died in NB
Mary     m. James Henderson   - remained in NB
Archibald    m.(1) Anne Henderson   (2) Mary Jane Ramsay  - family ultimately to Kansas City
Eliza Jane  - unmarried - died in NB
George    m. Margaret Rankin    - ultimately to Boston, Mass.
Joseph    m. Margaret Graham   - remained in NB
Rev. Robert   m. Johannah Gardiner  - ultimately to New York

Any information on other Wassons of Newtown Stewart area also appreciated.
