Title: blackvein colliery risca

just found out that my 2x great granddad was killed in the blackvein colliery disaster in risca is there any information anywhere that i can find about this.
 his name was morgan hughes his age would be about 39/40.
 any help would be very grateful jere.

 thank you for this address. yes i found my 2x gt. granddad he did die in 1860 disaster aged 39 how sad he left 5 small children.

There is a small mass cemetery on the otherside of the valley (the opposite side to the Blackvein). Unfortunatly as many of the bodies could not be identified, they were all buried together. The grave site is hidden away but there is access to it from the canal in Risca.
