I have some basic transcriptions from Addlestone cemetery...
I'm working on adding to it when ever I am able... however I have a list of over 700 people
The cemetery is split into sections:
section 8 - partial
section 9 - partial
section 10 - partial
section 11 - partial
section 12 - complete
section 22 - complete
Will look up names if requested, as I have not uploaded this to a specific website yet.

Hi Twink
I've just discovered RootsChat, so this is my first message.
I am trying to help my wife locate the grave of one of her brothers. He was Heindrich Stevens, aged a few weeks, who died at St Peter's hospital, Chertsey, in the Sept quarter of 1962.
So if he is buried at Addlestone, it would be between July and October 1962.
Please could you look him up for me?
Many thanks

I don't have a list of the buriels that took place at Addlestone Cem, I just wonder around certain sections and take transcriptions from headstones.... however if the office/chapel is ever open whilst i'm there I will ask for you (it's always been shut so far). I haven't come across a Heindrich Stevens as yet....
The cemetery is run and maintained by Runnymede Borough Council. They have a website
http://www.runnymede.gov.uk
so maybe they could assist you?
-
Thank you Twink much appreciated.

Hello Twink
Many thanks for your reply. Please can you advise me whether Addlestone is the main cemetery for the Chertsey area? Also, do you happen to know the phone number for the cemetery office. I did send an email to the leisure services department at Runnymede, but I've been waiting over a week now for a reply, so not expecting any joy in that quarter.
Thanks again
Gordon

Hi Twink,
Just wondering if you have any information on: Doris Miriam Smith Died 05/08/1957 her ashes were put with her husband Norman Cary. Any information would be great.
-
Hi Morgan. No information on those i'm afraid.
-
Addlestone is the main cemetery, but there is also another quite near at Chertsey. There are of course some church burial grounds allthough on the whole not used now, St Pauls Addlestone,Ottershaw parish church, Holy Trinity Lyne, St Peters Chertsey. The rural dean Tim Hillier is vicar of St Peters. Hope this helps a little. If you do locate a grave I would be willing to go and take a photo for you
-
8)Thanks for your offer Maycroft,
I have not yet located any of my lot but I have more than one branch in my tree from Chertsey and surrounds. :-\
I know fro instance William Thomas Bradshawe was buried at Addlestone in 1895 his parents married at the Parish Church, Addlestone 1861 and he was born 1862

The messages relating to Addlestone are very interesting especially the one from Lewy. I worship at St. Paul`s Church so if Lewy would like to send me the names and dates for her relatives who were christened at the church I`ll see if I can find any records. Unfortunately the church was almost totally destroyed by fire afew years ago so I`m not sure what happened to the records. There are still some grave stones and tombs in the church yard so I`m happy to have a search if anyone is interested.I also have a friend who is a local funeral director who might help with searches.
Cheers, Cyndy

Thanks Emma for your offer but it is not me that is after the picture.
As this is an old post (2004) I suspect that the original poster no longer comes on here but anyone else finding the post on here in the future may take you up on your offer. :)
