Hi,

Help needed, I can't find Joseph ROBINSON on the 1901 census, as can be seen I have found his parents and siblings but not him, any info would be gratefully recieved.

JOHN ROBINSON was born 1857 in Thorganby,Yorks.  He married CATHERINE FOSTER 1875 in York,Yorks, daughter of JOHN FOSTER and ELIZABETH ?.  She was born 20 October 1853 in Dunnington,York.

have you searched for a possible death?

there are 27 possibles with the following search criteria input:

Joseph Robinson Q1 1891 - Q1 1901 age 25 +/- 5 years


also he may have been in the 2nd Boer War 1899-1902, would explain his absence form the 1901 census

Joseph Robinson and his wife Catherine plus two of their children John William and Elizabeth are still in Bilton Street in York door number 54.  Joseph is under the name John Robinson.

Sorry about that, my fault did not read it properly, something to do with having flu.  Did Joseph have any other children before 1901, and do you know what his wife's name was.  There is a Joseph born York married to a Margaret, age is slightly out (3 years) residing in Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne, occupation commercial traveller.  The children are Margaret, Joseph and Frederick.

The only other one which I can find is a Joseph Robson born York of the right age, his occupation is a flour miller labourer, and he is a boarder at Heaton Norris, Stockport, Cheshire.
