Title: Convalescence Home for WW1 Troops
Post by: nickyhug on Monday 01 October 07 16:34 BST (UK)
My Great Aunt, Ellen Irene Torrance, married a New Zealand Serviceman in October 1918.  His name was Edwin Simpson Andrews and I have the information from their marriage certificate that he was aSecond Lieutenant N.Z.E.7.  They were married at Brokenhurst Parish Church.  I know there was a convalescence home there particulary for troops from New Zealand and India.  I would like to find out more about Edwin and why he was there.  Has any one got any ideas of how I could go about this?

Many thanks
Nickyhug

Hi Nickyhug

The New Zealand archives site has some information on the whereabouts of WW1 NZ service records:

Hi
Thanks to both of you I will check these links out.  Another family member told me they went back to New Zealand after they were married.  Does anyone know where I might find out about that, or should I post another request on the emmigration area?
Many thanks
Nickyhug :)

Hi Nickyhug

I would post a new topic on the "New Zealand" board as it is more likely to be seen by (more) Rootschatters who have knowledge of New Zealand Resources.
