& who lived there first

I don't know whether you are local, but if you are the library would be a really good place to start. 

Not knowing the area, I could also suggest that you look on www.old-maps.co.uk to see whether the road features on any of the maps.

Originally, there were just a few house built and they were called Llanover Terrace. These were built in 1887. I cannot tell you whether number 12 would be included in this, but number 52 use to be 8 Llanover Terrace (changed somepoint between 1901 and 1911 census). My grandfather lived at number 15 but that was in the last 25 years.
