Alan and Sybil have asked me to let all their Rootschat friends know that they are going to be married.

A date has not been set yet because need to sort out officialdom . As soon as a dtae has been announced will update post.

Alan & Sybil have their special licence and will be married in the Cowal Hospice chapel in Dunoon on Wednesday 10th October. They are then having a celebration at the Cowal Golf club in Dunoon on Friday 12 October.

Reason is chapel is too wee to get to many in and vicar not available Friday.

If anyone would like to send them a card please send to Mr & Mrs Alan Baldwin c/o the Cowal Golf club, Ardenslate Road, Dunoon PA23 8LT.

Even more special cos WHO EVER it was that chose the flowers and foliage, chose bloody wisely. All us Aussies are there in Sybil's hand with a sprig or two of Aussie Eucalyptus cinerea (Argyle apple). Another reason I am teary... always sentimental about things Aussie and especially so when they turn up in weddings overseas. That is a WOW event indeed. (Surprised that other Aussies didnt pick that up and comment)

So to Barry, Deb, Ann, Holly and Julian, thanks for giving us Aussies a presence at such a special event.

We're back in sunny Sheffield now.

We had such a memorable day on Friday. Yer wee surprise got me and there was I trying not to need Kleenex (Luckily had truck outside ajmd waterproof mascara).

It was an honour for us to be there, such a special day for all of us. H is going to flower press Alan's buttonhole so she can keep it! She was very touched to have it so a special thank you from Holly. (I knew the Kleenex truck was needed !)

What can we say was excellent all round and to those chatters who helped - you are wee stars! A day to remember !

But the main stars were our bride and groom!

I thank you all for your prayers as I know Alan does to, he starts his treatment in 20 mins, at 16;40.
and will be home again on friday teatime, will keep you posted.
in the meantime I have a problem any suggestions welcome, it's genealogy related.....................

I came online for the first time in many months last night and was dumbfounded by your responses on this board.

I have been an online chatter here and on aother sites for many years but have never come upon such a wonderfull group of friends, no I can not just call you all friends you are far more than that. God has made many many wonderous things and my life has contained many of these but god has really given me the greatest prize here.
