Title: Where in County Tyrone?
Post by: thistlekid on Sunday 30 September 07 05:27 BST (UK)
Would someone please help me identify the location of this marriage that took place in County Tyrone?  I cannot read the handwriting on the register.  I have looked through numerous lists of townlands for County Tyrone and I cannot find anything that appears to match.

Thanks so much for any help that you can provide.

Sorry about all of the extra black space in the previous post.  I'm not certain where I went wrong.  That was the first time that I attempted an attachment.  :-[

Hi,  Try   http://www.caledon.org.uk/    If the Placename came from a Scottish marriage cert. chances are the registrar wrote it down as he heard it.

Try www.thecore.com/seanruad to find the name of a townland or parish. Be sure to change default search setting from exact match to found at end or word, start of word, etc.

Just managed to enlarge the writing and looks like a mis-spelling of Caledon which is on the border of Co. Armagh and not far from the Co. Monaghan border (between Armagh city and Aughnaloy).
