Hi
  Thank you for the info!

The marraige one for Montgomery and Sarah I have....
"22 Feb.1845- Marriage- On the 13th inst., in the Parish Church of Cappagh,.........."

This I have and believe to be John B (possibly Buchanan)
"24 Feb.1849- Birth- On the 8th inst., the wife of Montgomery...." I believe John B is buried here in New York cemetery next to his sister Jane Armstrong Copeland.

This may possibly be Hugh or William since I am not sure when they were born.....
"25 Mar.1859- Birth- March 10, at Bunnynubber, near Omagh, the wife of Montgomery Armstrong, Esq., of a son."

And this is new to me. One of Montgomery Armstrong's sister's names was Nicholina...so this MOST definitely is mine. TY
"27 Sept.1864- Death- September 18, ......"

The ones with James Armstrong coroner I need to look into. They could be a cousin or other relative. I have Montgomery Armstrongs parents....They were William Armstrong and Jane Montgomery of the Island of Innishmore,Co Fermanagh.  I also have Montgomery Armstrong's obit from 1885.

Thank you soooooo much for this info...I appreciate it!

Thought they might be of interest if you didn't have them already. The ones to do with the coroner were included because of last obituary for Montgomery Armstrong. Maybe Ontario is another place for you to search for Armstrongs now?

Hi
That is a possibility. I am looking for the children (or relatives of) Montgomery and Sarah Armstrong. Montgomery Armstrong was my gg grandfather. As I said he was married to Sarah Buchanan who was born in Co Tyrone. Montgomery was born on the Island of Innishmore in Co Fermanagh. His parents were William Armstrong b 1764 in Dryfesdale, Dumfries,Scotland and Jane Montgomery b.? on Innishmore (<this I am researching) daughter of James Montgomery.  I have 9 of Montgomerys 18 siblings...all born on Innishmore. One of them was Nicholina Armstrong who married Hugh Copeland. They were also my gg grandparents. YES cousins married......lol..Montgomerys daughter Jane immigrated to US 1876 and married Nicholinas son George in Brooklyn,New York(you can see on my first post) .
I have lots of info on the Armstrongs ,( even info that isn't mine) but as of yet....and I have looked...I can not find any in Canada yet. I have found a connection to two families of Armstrongs in Illinois, US.
Thank you again for the info. I appreciate any info I get....TY again.

Will check Sentinel index again for William and Jane Armstrong, etc. As you already know there are so many Armstrongs in Fermanagh.

LOL..........BOY do I KNOW!!!!! And like all/most of the families during that time "first" names were continuosly passed down. Even cousins born around the same time could carry the same name. It can be sooooo confusing when "Hugh and his cousin Hugh both have sons named James that were born 1-2 years apart.....AND married girls named Jane (even if the Jane's surnames were different!) .LOL " YES I know only too well about the Armstrongs! I do have alot of records on them tho.....alot not even my family but records other people have sent me.
I am very lucky in the sense I KNOW my Armstrongs were born and lived on Innishmore. William and Jane are buried there, with a couple of their sons. My Montgomerys (Jane's) family, also lived there. And some of her relatives are buried there.
Thank You again for looking for this info. I have found that because N Ireland records are hard to get...some not even existing anymore....newspapers are a great way to get clues and info. I appreciate it so much!!! TY again.

Just had another look at Sentinel index and lots of Armstrongs but no one else I could connect to Montgomery's family or Innishmore. Also checked for Copelands.

Hello.  I wondered if you had any further information on BonnyNubber?
My grandfather took us to Ireland from Canada in 1970 and we visited this home, which was his grandmother's home, I believe.  This makes us distant cousins!
My daughter and I are travelling to Ireland at the end of this month and I was hoping that BonnyNubber still exists.

Thank you.

Hi Waldo Olga!

WOW...So you say Bonnynubber was your Grandfather's grandmother's home? May I ask her name?  John Buchanan lived in Bonnynubber. His daughter Sarah married Montgomery Armstrong (my gg grandparents). They lived on Innishmore till about 1856 when they moved to Bonnynubber- I assume because since Sarah was an only child, Bonnynubber was left to her after her father died- thus why they moved with some of their children there. Montgomery and SArah's daughter Jane Armstrong married her cousin George Copeland. She traveled to America abt 1876/77 and they were married shortly after that. George was the son of Hugh Copeland of Enniskillen (son of James Copeland of Lisbellaw) and Nicholina Armstrong (Montgomery's sister). After Hugh died (1841) Nicholina and 6 of her 7 stepchildren and her 5 children went to America (1848). By 1856 the 6 step children had gone on to Australia- Nicholina and her children settled in Brooklyn, NY!  George Copeland and Jane Armstrong were my g grandparents and they lived their lives in Brooklyn, NY.

I can find out info in ref to Bonnynubber. I have not been doing much gen work lately since I watch my grand daughter..BUT I have a cousin in Dublin who has gone there often. There was also an outside gentleman last year looking into the Armstrong/Buchanan relation to Pres. James Buchanan. I KNOW there are still relatives there since I sent pictures and info to them last year.

I do not know if I can post an address here....but...it is (*)

Please if you wish to contact me-please do! It is always GREAT to meet a fellow cousin! I know there were children of a Hugh Copeland from Enniskillen that went to Canada...almost same circumstances as mine...and often confused..BUT his b date was later. I still believe he was most likely a cousin/nephew of mine. Well...would love to hear from you!

Sue
