I am searching for a marriage between Phillip Lanxon and Margery somewhere about 1696. I am assuming it was in or close to Blisland. Thanks Lettie

Hi Lettie,
Phillip LANCSON = Margery LANDON 6 Aug 1689 Warleggan
Cheers Kris :D

;D Thanks so much Kris... an exciting find
-
Dear Kris,
Do you have any suggestions about finding the family of Margery Landon?
thanks Lettie

Hi Lettie,
I would think checking the Warleggan records a good place to start as that is where the marriage took place. There is only one marriage I can see at that time in Warleggan
John LANGDON = Susan KNIGHT 3 Nov 1660 Warleggan
The only birth on the IGI is
Ann LANDON or LANGDON 2 Aug 1670 Warleggan Parents John and Susan
10 years after marriage so I wonder if there may be more not appearing on the IGI. :-\
Cheers Kris :D

Another big thankyou Kris,
Kind regards
Lettie :)

Thanks so much Magic. I would love to know more about the parents, grandparents of Phil, especially death information as I cannot find any of that. Do you know any more about Margery who married Phil Lanxon?
Thanks again,

Married to Lucretia Where (also recorded as Luezelia) Born abt 1590 ? Married at St.Mabyn 07-10-1613. Died 13-09-1623. John's parents Willmus (also recorded as William) married Selian Cocke (maybe Corke). They were married 15-05-1571 at Blisland. These are my earliest tracings. I have a lot of other info on all the above's relatives. Sorry nothing more on Margery Landon. I have two gaps in the tree. Do you have anything on Richard Lanxon Died 1803 aged 78. - church warden at Helland 1778. (Parents?).

Thanks Magic.
I don't have anything on Richard Lanxon. Sorry I cannot help. Do you know anything about the lives the early Lanxons lived? I am curious about occupations and so on.
Cheers,
Lettie

Mostly farmers, farm tenants and farm workers in the villages around Bodmin Moor. Other trades are carpenters, saddlers, journeymen and woodmen. My oldest records show the families to be concentrated in the village of Blisland. This is a pretty village with a village green, a pub and a church. Then the families seem to have moved to Helland where the small churchyard has several old family graves. From here my stem of the family moved into the town of Bodmin. My grandfather was one of 9 children - he was the only boy. he had my father and a daughter. My father had 4 girls and my youngest sister is the last of our line of the Lanxons.
