Title: lawerence pearson - moneydie
Post by: togs1 on Sunday 16 September 07 11:03 BST (UK)
I am searching for any information about Lawerence Pearson - whom I believe was born in 1927 or there abouts - he was in the merchant navy at some stage and was also believed to be an engineer- I am presuming that he was the son of Lawerence and Charlotte Pearson. Any information about the Lawerence and Charlotte and their children would be appreciated. I am not sure of the spelling of Lawerence - it may have been Laurence

Thank you for that information - the information I need now is the children from that marriage - I think I have found a Wilhemina - but I thought that there was a Lawerence, George and another girl

Hi togs

It's more difficult for any of us who are at a distance from Edinburgh because the online resources at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk only have birth registrations up to 1906.

Hi Togs,
my grandfather and Ggf are the Lawerence Pearsons from Moneydie, I also have an Uncle Lawrence Edwin Pearson who was born in 1927. This may be the person you are looking for.
I have a Pearson from Moneydie Topic on this site.
My uncle who was known as Eddie was in the Black Watch Army.
Do you have any other info on Lawerence.
How are you related ?

Charlie.

Hi Charlie

I think that the Lawrence Edwin Pearson that is your Uncle Eddie may the same person. You say you have a Pearson from Moneydie topic on this site - as I am new to this could you let me know how to find it. Were there other siblings in your uncles family and was he always in the Black Watch Army? Sorry lots of questions - but they will all help to build up a picture  and add to a family tree.
Cheers

Hi Togs,

I am not sure if it is the same lawrence as I am sure I have some info somewhere in my files re- Lawerence who was in the merchant navy. His parents weren't Lawrence and Charlotte if my memory is correct.
Unfortunately I am going to Silverstone for the weekend so I will look it out next week.
My Lawerence's parents are the ones you have mentioned he was the eldest of 12.
They are Charlotte, George, Richard,James, David, William, Wilhelmina ( who was my mother), Isobel, Gordon, Francis and Alexander.

My Pearsons of moneydie topic is further down the main topics page which has had just over 2000 hits.

I will get back in touch next week.

Charlie.

my further information on Lawrence Pearson was that he had 4 siblings, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. He was born 1927 - Perth - Scotland. He studies engineering and wa s in the merchant navy in the early 1950's. He may or may not have left the navy later.  Any information on Lawrence would be of help - I have found plenty of the same name but the other details do not fit. Also spelling of Laurence - I am presuming that it is with a 'w' but I could be wrong. Names of his parents or grand parents would certainly help to fill in the details and add to the family tree.

Cheers
