I know you didn't ask for a restore, but I can't resist a nurse  ::) (I married one ;) )
So here's a quick B/W and sepia version

Hello TT and Mudge

What beautiful jobs you have done!

I feel bad now, because being new to this, I lost where I'd tried this out and started again. As you can see, I managed to do the other one eventually and didn't know where to find my first attempt.

I wish I had my Mum's good looks!

Thanks very much again

Alice

You are clever !!! It gives it an almost dream-like quality doesn't it - Mum would have been most impressed.

Thanks for your kindness

Once again, thank you all so much - you've been so kind.

I think it was taken between 1931 and when she married Dad in 1938 so she would have been 20-27 years old.

She'd be very flattered at all the attention she's getting!

Kind regards

AliceB

Thanks so much Genie - as I've said, Mum would be bemused and amused at all the interest - it's a lovely photo though isn't it.

Much appreciated

I'm overwhelmed by the interest in my Mum - all I can say to you all, is thanks so much for your time and effort put in. I have some really beautiful copies of the portrait now and will certainly treasure them.

Hi Genie ...  I'm like you ... do all these restores and then forget to flippin post them when I get sidetracked with another pic !! ..I thought your black and white one looked very crisp ... ..  She looks  the sort of person you'd want looking after you when you were poorly ...calm and efficient.. ;)
