I am wondering if anyones visiting the archives, would they be able to do a look up these references for me.

THE SURNAME IS PHILLIPS

NAME... Mathew Thomas PHILLIPS

Hi Ann

Archives don’t hold BMD records.  They do however hold Intention to Marry registers.
To check an ITM, you need to provide a registration district and the quarter (or actual date)  the marriage took place.

For the probate lookup, you need to provide the following:
Agency
Series
Accession
Box/item
Record

Is the name on the probate record as you have listed above?
